Form-based analysis

Standard Functional Analysis

A focused, personalized, clinician-reviewed functional analysis based on structured self-report or parent-report.

How the Standard analysis works

The Standard Functional Analysis uses structured forms to reduce respondent burden while still capturing practical information about reported tic patterns across everyday situations.

You first list the individual tics you want analyzed. You then review common situations and add personally relevant situations, such as screens, homework, transitions, bedtime, social settings, stress, fatigue, boredom, and sensory environments.

Instead of rating every tic against every situation, you rate the overall tic pattern in each situation. Individual tics are rated separately only when a specific tic behaves differently from the overall pattern.

What the report identifies

  • Situations where tics appear better or worse
  • Situations where tics appear more interfering
  • Tics that behave differently from the overall reported pattern
  • Higher-priority reported patterns for experimentation
  • Suggested experiments for home, school, routines, screens, transitions, sensory environments, and other relevant contexts
  • Limitations, uncertainty, and areas worth observing

Important note

Findings are framed as reported patterns and working hypotheses, not definitive causes. Suggested experiments are practical ideas to consider, not clinical instructions or medical advice.
